The Pediatric Ophthalmology and Squint service at Advanced Eye Hospital and Institute (AEHI), Sanpada, near Vashi station provides evaluation, and treatment for the full range of eye conditions that affect children. Patients, both adults and children, with eye misalignment problems are also treated.

Children can be afflicted by many eye diseases. They may be born with or may develop problems. The management of eye problems in children requires special knowledge and skills. Even before a child can speak, pediatric ophthalmologists can tell what a child sees, if he or she needs eyeglasses or contact lenses, and if any problems exist with the eyes. Children are not miniature adults and cannot be properly treated by adult surgeons. Children’s eye problems require diagnostic and treatment methods that are usually different from those used in the older age group.

Some of the common diseases treated in children include-

 1. Cataract
 2. Squint
 3. Retinopathy of Prematurity
 4. Lazy Eye
